JACK TANG
MY STORY
The feeling of awkwardness has followed me for my entire life. Whether it being my race or being raised by a single parent, I’ve long held the feeling of not belonging with my peers. I’d avoid sleepovers because I’d fear the judgment of not knowing how to behave in a white household or something like I’d lose a weekend with my dad. I’d eventually envelope myself in the world of film where things made sense to me and I’d feel like I could fit in. Moving from the San Francisco Bay Area down to Los Angeles for my film education has taught me so much of what it’s like to be comfortable being just me.
WHY GOODNIGHT JUDY?
The story was developed from my own misfortunes of partying on Halloween weekend. So much chaos packed within three days was exhilarating and crazy fun, but an unexpected turn of romance left a weird taste in my mouth. I wanted to explore that feeling with this script and, after months of development, hopefully make some people smile.
WORST THING YOU’VE DONE AT A PARTY?
At a recent birthday party, I had accidentally drunk too much and blacked out before the party started. I was told I missed the entire party.
